Khao Sok National Park - Chiao-Lan-Lake
Khao Sok National Park - Chiao-Lan-Lake

The Khao Sok national park with its amazing lime stone formations and an area of 739 km2 is located in the province of Surat Thani. Through building of the Ratchaprapha dam about 162 km2 of the Khao Sok national park was flooded and the wonderful Chiao-Lan-Lake came to existence. With its species-rich flora and fauna, for example the 80 cm big Rafflesia flower, countless butterflies, elephants and sometimes tigers, the Khao Sok national park is a must do experience in the south of Thailand. Other great experiences are guided jungle and cave tours near the Chiao-Lan-Lake.

How to get There

Many mini busses depart from Surat Thani to Khao Sok national park and it makes sense to take the night boat to Surat Thani from Koh Tao when you finished your diving courses here. After completion of the Khao Sok experience you can continue downwards to Khao Lak to join one of the great liveaboard dive boats.
